It is always interesting when you meet someone for the first time in RL. Now I've know of her since high school, but I've never really met her and had a little chat.
You build up a mental image and sound of friends you know online, like your brain wants to fill in the blanks of your knowledge and guesses. I can confirm that Sheshines is even more lovely in real life than she is on DA
I also had online friends stay with me earlier this year, I've known them for years, but one I knew what she looked like and what he sounded like, but again my brain filled in blanks. You just can't guess a lot of what people are like from online conversations, smilies only get you so far. I had a wonderful time with Jeremy and Iris, it was a pleasure to know them more.
I guess what I'm saying is if you get the chance to meet an online friend in RL do it, if you have known them long enough and trust them enough to do so they are more than likely nice people. Besides corrupting Americans with Irn-Bru and English-English is fun
