The Awfullness of CS3 Icons

You may or may not be aware that Adobe has released a beta of Photoshop CS3, mainly I think to prove to those Intel Mac owners that there will be X86 versions on their way. There have been many posts of the subject so I won’t bore you with the details, I’ll just state my opinion and offer some appropriate links.
I started off liking them for, mmm, around 5 minutes untill I realised how essentially broken they are.

New Phone

Yay I got my Orange C600 today via Ebay. Its nice and shiny and in good nick. It has the main flaw that most joystick phones have which is just in the joints, but a quick blow in the joystick housing soon fixed that. I’m using Samus Aran by Transfuse for my background, the orange home screen, wm5 default (graphite colour) and I’ve Got It -eureka New School by Ko Kimura.

Does Apple not want my money?

Apple lately has erected a veritable wall of defense against me moving to the Mac. Crappy adverts and debatable design choices aside. There are two main problems as I see it with the recent Macs.
Reliability I know of 3 people with MacBook Pros, only one has been without fault and one repaired to the owners satisfaction. Hell you might even call them the JankBook Pro, but they have enough problems as is.

Arial Vs Helvetica

More likely than not you are viewing this site on a Windows PC. If so you will notice the banner above uses Arial. Arial is rip clone of Helvetica a timeless classic that is by its very nature expensive to license. Microsoft knows its customers, these are the people that laugh at ‘hilarious’ clip art and think using Comic Sans gives them ‘personality’. So MS hired Monotype to make alternatives to all the popular postscript type faces, including Helvetica.

498Fucking hell this is good, I’m sorry to swear online, but this is THE toy I would want out of any other. Guess what I they were selling it in Edinburgh for £18. This thing is awesome. The joints are far beyond your bog standard figure, You get all the kit, the revolver the Stun Baton (extended or collapsed), a variety of hands, a base for stabilization in extreme postures. It just rocks!

Meh, back to work tomorrow (oh wait David might read this) Yay, back to work tomorrow 🙂
Been having a good relax, I feel a lot better, I lost half a stone probably due to all that relieved stress, thank god I don’t work in marketing otherwise I’d have gained a lot more.
My mate John is looking to get his finger out and build a portfolio, I hope he does, unlike every other time he has said so.
